I am so excited to (finally) finish this faux fireplace tutorial for yall. This project is simple, and it’s not fancy. I love it because it is a basic, cheap DIY that you can easily take and mold to your own style. I keep our home decorated fairly clean and simple. I like a lot of straight lines, which ends up meaning that things are often easy to build. Things are also often easy to build because I am NOT a master DIY-er or handywoman (and neither is my husband). I am going to share with you how we did it. Disclaimer: I am sure there are more “official” or “proper” ways of doing it. But that brings me back to my previous statement. I am not a master. This way worked great for us! This is for anyone else out there who wants to DIY, but needs to keep it easy!
Fun fact: We spend an average of 122 days a year sleeping. That’s ONE THIRD of our life. What. Mind is kinda blown. With that said, sleep hygiene is so important. A couple of years ago, I started sleeping terribly. I wouldn’t have trouble falling asleep, but I just could not stay asleep. Once that started happening, I had to trial and error so. many. things. to help me get rest! Tried melatonin — didn’t work. Tried white noise — didn’t work. But today I’m going to share with you what did work AND where to get sheets that help you sleep better. Cheers to that. Click below to see more!
It’s currently low 60’s here and I have seen some leaves starting to change. What. The. Actual. Heck. I seriously can’t believe Summer is basically over and Fall is coming. I mean, Fall is my favorite season, but Summer in Coeur d’Alene (where I live) is absolute magic and I can’t believe how fast it blew by.
Today, I am going to share with y’all some Fall sweaters I have either purchased or have on my wish list! Everything is under $40, and a lot of them are Amazon Prime. I am also including my go-to protein smoothie recipe for Fall. I legit start having it for breakfast once it’s acceptable to start adding pumpkin to allll the foods. Which I think that time is new. This smoothie will satisfy your pumpkin tooth without packing on the added sugars and empty calories. Click below to read more!
Hi all! Currently sitting in my pajamas with an “I-work-night-shift” hangover. Two weeks until day shift and I can’t wait. Recently, I have been getting a lot of questions about how to grow your Instagram account. Like so many that I put out a poll in my Insta stories to see if you guys wanted to see a blog post about it. And the overwhelming answer was a YES. Now, I don’t have hundreds of thousands of followers and I just started really doing thing Instagram thing in October, but I will definitely share with y’all what I have found that works and what I have found that did not work! Keep in mind, what works for me might not work for you 100%, but I sure hope it does and that you are able to walk away from this blog post with a little bit of insight into how to grow!
Hi everybody! It’s Tuesday, I don’t work, and I am being super lazy on the couch right now. I did already shower and get ready though. And it’s only 09:30 am where I’m at. So I haven’t been completely lazy. While I was curling my hair today, I kinda had the idea of sharing some of my favorite health and beauty products with you guys. I have literally tried a million different things, and these are all products I swear by. I’m going to share my top favorite things from each of the following: skincare, hair, makeup, and health/wellness. If you have been on the hunt for something in one of those areas, I hope your find something here! These are all tried & true. Have the greatest day ever, yall.
Wallpaper is officially making a comeback, yall. And it is so much better than it was in the 90’s. Peel and freakin’ stick! Hell. Ya. But I get it, even the peel & stick is a little daunting. Hopefully this post puts you at ease. Because I have never applied wallpaper before. But it was 100% doable and makes a real statement! Seriously. It also makes everything else easier to design around, in my opinion. Once I had my grey brick wallpaper up, it kind of “set the tone” for the room & made everything else easier to pick.
Whenever I post a picture of my master on my Instagram (@everydaykacie), I get so many messages about my wallpaper. Does it peel in the corners? Was it easy to put on? Would I recommend it? So I decided to write this to answer all your wallpaper questions, & offer a couple tips, too.
Some new Christmas stuff has been released (YAY) so I wanted to do another round up for y’all since everyone loved the first one so much! & Here it is! Any questions stick them in the comments. I think it’s pretty safe to say that Amazon rocks. We can shop from the comfort of our own couch – while drinking wine and wearing yoga pants – for literally EVERYTHING. And then it just gets delivered right to our door in those great Prime boxes. But sometimes it’s hard to weed through so many different things because Amazon does have so. many. things. Which is why it’s great! To kinda help you sift through, I’ve curated a list of my Top 20 Farmhouse Buys from Amazon for your kitchen & living room/family room. I own A LOT of these items & really put some time into choosing my very favorites! Have fun & happy Amazon searching! Click the read more button below to see 🙂
So I know there’s only +/- one month of Fall left, depending on where you live. In Northern Idaho, it aaaalmost feels like Winter. BUT, that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t enjoy Fall to the fullest. And it definitely doesn’t mean you can’t get some new Fall decor. Because Fall freakin rocks. Whether you want to use it this year, or save it for next, there are some serious sales going on as they roll out all the Christmas stuff. I’m not lying. Nothing on this list is over $35! I may or may not have taken EXTREME advantage of that (I did). I’m going to use the stuff I purchased to touch up & embellish what I have decorated now, and save some for next year! I’ve organized it all by what you can use them for! Fall tablescape/mantle stuff, wall signs, Fall porch decorations, and just miscellaneous accent-type pieces. Of course there’s cross-over and you can use things I placed under wall signs for your table, I just tried to make it easy to search through. Cheers to Fall. 🙂
