I am so excited to (finally) finish this faux fireplace tutorial for yall. This project is simple, and it’s not fancy. I love it because it is a basic, cheap DIY that you can easily take and mold to your own style. I keep our home decorated fairly clean and simple. I like a lot of straight lines, which ends up meaning that things are often easy to build. Things are also often easy to build because I am NOT a master DIY-er or handywoman (and neither is my husband). I am going to share with you how we did it. Disclaimer: I am sure there are more “official” or “proper” ways of doing it. But that brings me back to my previous statement. I am not a master. This way worked great for us! This is for anyone else out there who wants to DIY, but needs to keep it easy!
Fun fact: We spend an average of 122 days a year sleeping. That’s ONE THIRD of our life. What. Mind is kinda blown. With that said, sleep hygiene is so important. A couple of years ago, I started sleeping terribly. I wouldn’t have trouble falling asleep, but I just could not stay asleep. Once that started happening, I had to trial and error so. many. things. to help me get rest! Tried melatonin — didn’t work. Tried white noise — didn’t work. But today I’m going to share with you what did work AND where to get sheets that help you sleep better. Cheers to that. Click below to see more!
We bought a builder-grade house. And (surprise) it came with builder-grade mirrors. You know, the plain-jane mirrors connected by the little clips. I knew that I wanted to do SOMETHING to make them look better. I contemplated buying new mirrors altogether, which was turning out to be very expensive. So I searched for a more budget-friendly alternative! One of my Instagram buddies, @societyofsumner, had posted how she framed her builder-grade mirrors. Hers came out so good. And I knew I had to do it! I did a little internet search and there are A LOT of people who have done this in various ways. I’m going to share with y’all how I did it. And if you aren’t already wondering… the whole project cost me about $75 for both bathrooms! Continue reading “The Easiest DIY Mirror Upgrade”
Well. It’s kinda hard to believe, but everywhere is loaded with spring things! I feel like Christmas JUST ended. And it’s snowing outside. Nevertheless, Spring decor is here & it’s so cute! Y’all know I love a good deal, and these are ALL under $50. Scout’s honor. You’ll find Spring & Easter in here and I hope you like it. I have purchased a lot of things from this list, so if you have any questions, ask away!

Wallpaper is officially making a comeback, yall. And it is so much better than it was in the 90’s. Peel and freakin’ stick! Hell. Ya. But I get it, even the peel & stick is a little daunting. Hopefully this post puts you at ease. Because I have never applied wallpaper before. But it was 100% doable and makes a real statement! Seriously. It also makes everything else easier to design around, in my opinion. Once I had my grey brick wallpaper up, it kind of “set the tone” for the room & made everything else easier to pick.
Whenever I post a picture of my master on my Instagram (@everydaykacie), I get so many messages about my wallpaper. Does it peel in the corners? Was it easy to put on? Would I recommend it? So I decided to write this to answer all your wallpaper questions, & offer a couple tips, too.
Yes, everything in this list is UNDER $50. I wanted to put together this round up because I think a lot of people don’t realize that you can get REALLY cute decor items without emptying your bank account. I mean, we already have to buy presents… possibly expensive plane tickets… and our property taxes are due. So I think we can all agree that budget-friendly holiday decorations are basically awesome! I’ve organized it by store. There’s everything from tablescape items to wood signs to pillows to tree decorations. If you have any questions, just post a comment & I will try to answer it! I had a lot of fun searching for these budget-friendly buys, and I hope you enjoy looking through them & find something you like 🙂
It’s Monday. Word on the street is that Mondays aren’t the best day of the week… but I know you’ve had a strong cup of coffee and I have faith that your day will be awesome. For sure. In hopes of adding a little extra inspiration to your Monday morning, I thought I’d share some of my favorite farmhouse style decor buys for the coziest master bedroom! We’re talking bedding, pillows, and throw blankets. Which is actually really exciting to me, and hopefully you too!
If you haven’t guessed already, I’m Kacie! I’m a mama to a sweet seven-year-old boy and the cuddliest two-year-old lab. My husband and I have been married 7 years, together for 9 years. He’s my best friend and my adventure buddy. My family and I recently moved to Coeur d’Alene, Idaho where we built our new home. Which I am (clearly and obviously) having so much fun decorating. My mama is my inspiration and the best decorator I know. I’d say my decor style is modern-minimalist-farmhouse. If that’s even a thing. If it’s not, it is now!
